Our tipsHoliday in Inzell and the surrounding area.

The Chiemgau is and remains one of the most popular holiday areas in Germany. No wonder, because hardly any other region offers as many leisure activities as our Inzell region between Lake Chiemsee and the Chiemgau Alps. Holidaymakers are often spoilt for choice, as it is almost impossible to fit all the places worth seeing, activities and festivals into one holiday. Many people are therefore drawn back to this region again and again to get to know as many facets as possible. Whether summer, winter, hiking, cycling or family holidays - almost all wishes can be fulfilled here!

Of course, we don't want to miss the opportunity to present you with our personal highlights. We hope you enjoy exploring the many possibilities of indoor and outdoor activities, excursion tips as well as tips for families and are of course happy to provide further recommendations!

For in-depth research, we would also like to recommend the website of Inzeller Touristik GmbH, where you can find more interactive maps, current event information and other tips for your holiday in Inzell.

Summer activities

No sooner has the last snow melted than we are drawn back onto our bikes and hiking boots. Numerous hiking and cycling trails lead through valley and mountain along unique panoramic views, past rustic alpine huts and lush meadows. Sometimes the long summer days seem to have no end, until the last rays of sunlight finally disappear behind the peaks for the night.

Winter activities

When Frau Holle has been busy, nature is transformed into a true winter paradise. White mountain peaks, glistening mountain lakes and snow-covered slopes lure die-hard snow fans outside even in icy temperatures. This is the special magic of winter and the unique opportunity for skiing, tobogganing, snowshoe hiking and and and ...

As a rule, the ski lifts open between December and March - provided there are good snow conditions. The best way to find out when the lifts and pistes are open is to check the websites of the respective lift operators.

But winter also offers plenty of indoor alternatives, e.g. if the magic of snow is a bit slow or the weather is just too unstable.

Sledding

Sledding is possible from the first snowfall on almost any natural slope. It goes up and down - again and again! On the other hand, it is more exciting on the 600 m long natural sledding run Adlgaß through the forest or on the Kesselalm.

A winter hike through the deep snowy forest? Better with snowshoes! With the right equipment you can explore the snow paradise far away from hiking trails. True to the motto: "The way is the goal!"

Cross-country skiing

Depending on the snow conditions, cross-country ski trails of different difficulty levels and lengths open in and around Inzell. In total, around 80 varied kilometers of cross-country ski trails can be covered.

Excursion tips

Inzell is an ideal starting point for day trips into the surrounding area. Places of interest such as Ruhpolding, Berchtesgaden, the Chiemsee and Königssee lakes or even the border to Austria are within easy reach. Perhaps you would like to combine several excursion destinations with each other? However, it is all too often difficult to say goodbye to the impressive places quickly, so our tip: don't take on too much for one day!

In a sociable place like Inzell, there is always a lot going on. Almost every day there are smaller event tips in the calendar - from themed hikes and summer concerts to traditional festivals, the book is always well filled.
